Beloved Performer Pat Finn, Known For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Dies at Age 60.
Stateside entertainer Finn, who was seen in beloved television series like Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in LA this Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, per reports.
"He never met a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his family stated in a message.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the brother of the main character.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous popular shows, such as:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.
Pat Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
