Starting XI

Dean Henderson Was rarely tested to perform in the first half before forced to intervene by an opponent's curled attempt. A sliding tackle on Qazim Laci highlighted sharp reading of the game. 6/10

The young full-back Another assured performance from the 20-year-old following his initial appearance against Serbia. Saka failed to make the opportunity from an exquisite touch over their defense. The left-back spot is his to lose at this stage. 7/10

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning with the national team. Slightly loose when playing out though his whipped corners posed a danger. A handy tempo-setter available to the coach to have against sides that sit back. Shown a yellow for a rash foul. Six

Declan Rice Deliveries on corner kicks and free-kicks created chances. Had license to roam on the left but was in an offside position as the pass came in front of goal. Given a deserved substitution after an hour. 6/10

The star midfielder Functioned in a forward position on the right and contributed with defensive duties. Demonstrated flashes of quality but scuffed a shot high. Substituted towards the end by a teammate, his competition, after being booked. Seven

The winger Was presented with the team's clearest opportunity before halftime, his effort smartly stopped from the Albanian keeper. As a teammate staying deep, it fell to him to offer an outlet on the right although his balls from wide areas were hit and miss. Replaced late in the match. 6/10

The captain The match-winner netting two more goals at international level. The opener a typical close-range tap-in and the second a classy headed goal after peeling away off his defender. At 32, he continues to improve and England are strong contenders in the upcoming tournament with him leading the line. Eight

The attacker Had difficulty to make an impact from the left. Had a presentable chance after being played in by the midfielder however Strakosha kept it out. His replacement had a greater effect when substituted. 5
