Torrential Rains Worsen Circumstances for Evacuated Gazans, Officials Alert
Intense precipitation over the last seven days have intensified the precarious circumstances of the vast number of uprooted Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, as stated by aid groups.
"Horrendous" Weather Poses Severe Risks
A official detailed the recent storm as "terrible", with precipitation so intense that around 15cm (6in) of water accumulated on the streets.
"These conditions was truly difficult for the people. The downpours were so intense... And the gales were so strong," noted the representative.
There is grave worry that children sheltering in tents in soaked clothing will succumb to hypothermia and additional ailments.
Casualties and Extensive Loss
The health ministry have confirmed that one baby has died from hypothermia and no fewer than 11 other people have been killed in roof cave-ins due to the storms.
Further statements suggest a greater death toll. Officials stated that several homes had totally fallen and scores had collapsed partially.

Aid Distribution Seen as Not Enough
Groups have increased deliveries of tarpaulins, bedding and garments after the ceasefire started, but they emphasize there is remains not enough aid reaching those in need.
"Agencies are working relentlessly to provide that aid and to distribute it, but the size of the needs is so vast that we continue to see many thousands of individuals and children who are genuinely suffering nightly," stated one official.
Ongoing Concerns and Agreement Plans
The next stage of the truce encompasses plans for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with post-war governance, the removal of military forces, and other terms.
Aid organizations have underscored the imperative for "increased and sustained aid to address immediate and future needs."
The conflict was initiated by an offensive in October 2023. Later military operations have caused a significant number of casualties in the area, based on health ministry data.
