This marks the last article I am writing prior to either outcome materializing: our boat arrives in Gaza, or Israeli forces capture it. We anticipate arriving on the ninth of October, after sailing the ocean starting last month.

Recently, we saw Israeli forces apprehending the sailors aboard the first Sumud convoy immediately preceding intended delivery. This appears to be the comparable stage when Israel may attempt to intercept our vessels belonging to our humanitarian mission.

Sailing Amid Dangerous Conditions

Our subsequent convoy has persisted navigating despite all reports about what happened of the earlier activists. While positioned near Cyprus, getting ready for overnight duty under the shadow of a mysterious flying object, we were informed that Israel had illegally commandeered the primary aid vessels in global maritime zones.

Subsequent sunrise brought sobering reality while I completed daily chores: scrubbing eating utensils in the compact galley, checking my phone periodically while Israel progressively captured the rest of the humanitarian convoy.

This development has only strengthened our collective determination to continue our mission.

Life Onboard

At this journey point, I've developed a pattern. My resting pattern includes sleeping from 11pm to 2am, followed by overnight duty until 5am, securing additional rest afterwards for a total of five hours. Additional rest remains unattainable amid rough seas and constant interruptions in close-quarter existence.

My sleeping arrangement consists of a narrow cushion placed over the seating area in the collective area. Daily I get clothed enclosed in my bedding while someone prepares coffee just steps apart. Certain aspects of coexisting among six companions within limited nautical space demand considerable adjustment.

The Journey's Objective

The healthcare materials and child feeding formula placed in the back section and cockpit area of our vessel could save numerous lives provided we complete our mission. Through a recent conversation, an interviewer proposed they viewed our mission as symbolic since interception seemed inevitable.

From distant perspectives, this reading may look credible. But, subsequent to traveling more than seven days with relief supplies throughout your environment, knowing its precise location, maintaining hope becomes essential for assisting desperate communities.

Transforming Relief Efforts

Yet, providing supplies does not represent the journey's primary goal. Officials often question about not allowing them distribute our supplies. Aside from justified suspicion concerning implementation during sustained barriers, consenting to those conditions would tacitly accept Israeli control over Palestinian waters.

Concerning Updates

New details emerged about the Sumud flotilla participants: movement to Negev facility, designation as unlawful entrants regardless of compelled relocation beyond territorial limits. Reports indicated denial of basic necessities including water, medicine and food, accompanied by degrading treatment and occasional violence from prison authorities.

Recent statistics indicated over three hundred participants were expelled as multiple individuals continued confined.

These circumstances look appalling but they diminish beside to the organized brutality experienced by detained Palestinians in identical institutions. Documented cases include deadly force leading to mortality without subsequent accountability regarding implicated staff.

Human rights organizations have comprehensively chronicled systematic mistreatment methods and assault occurrences throughout imprisonment locations. While international concern concerning humanitarian workers' situation remains justified and necessary, comparable focus has been absent for Palestinian suffering across generations of occupation.

Morning Reflections

Every sunrise I witness the endless marine expanse and the descending amber moon before the next daybreak. This oceanic autonomy to travel enormous seas highlights the essential comprehension that our objective surpasses aid.

Palestinian freedom remains unrealized while our personal freedoms continue restricted before that liberation is achieved. This core concept clarifies our persistent navigation. The reasoning proves straightforward.
